Angular Contact Ball Bearing

Angular Contact Ball Bearing

Designed for combined radial and high axial loads. The contact angle defines the axial-to-radial load ratio.

Technical Overview

Angular Contact Ball Bearings are designed to carry combined radial and axial loads. The defining characteristic is the contact angle, which determines how much axial load the bearing can handle relative to radial load. A larger contact angle means greater axial load capacity but lower radial load capacity.

These bearings are almost always used in pairs or sets — either face-to-face (O-arrangement), back-to-back (X-arrangement), or tandem — to handle bidirectional axial loads and provide a rigid bearing arrangement. They are the go-to choice for machine tool spindles, high-speed pumps, and precision gearboxes.

AMFO Traders stocks SKF and FAG angular contact bearings across multiple contact angle variants.
